Architectural design and construction control
Location: León, México
Year: 2009
This project forms part of the integral plan for improvement and adjustment of the sport area of the Coecillo neighborhood and its connection with the city centre. The pedestrian bridge has 3mts wide by 45.40mts length with protection handrails of 1.80m high. Conceptually the bridge has the necessity to support itself at the east side because on the west side the is no space for the foundations. Besides the structure has to be thin to respect the 3.20mts high restriction for the underneath car pass without creating steps to access the bridge. The bridge expresses itself as an urban reference element and it is used daily by elderly, children and disabled people with comfort and security.
